Before you call.

Common questions

Most merchants arrive asking the same few things.

Is the notice real. Why was the file placed. How do I verify it. (For the full list, see the FAQ)

See all questions
Is Merchant Rehab a legitimate firm?

Yes. We're a specialty commercial recovery firm. Our mailing address, phone, and general inbox are all listed on this site and on any correspondence we send. If a letter or call referring to us doesn't match what's shown here, don't engage with it. Email us and we'll check.

Why did I hear from you?

An originator or portfolio holder placed your commercial account with us for resolution. The communication you received verifies the originator. If it doesn't, or the name isn't familiar, call us immediately. It could be a portfolio transfer you weren't told about, or it could be a misrouted file. Either way, we'll work it out for you.

How do I verify that a letter or call is really from you?

Excellent question. Check these three: the phone number, the mailing address, and the sending email domain. All three should match what's shown on this page and on our Contact page. Our domain is merchantrehab.com. If an email arrives from a lookalike domain (extra letters, different TLD), it isn't from us.

Can I set up a payment plan?

Usually, yes. Structured plans are common. Which method depends on you, the file, the originator's parameters, and your current cash flow. Call us with a rough picture and we'll put a realistic plan in writing.
